So, Lady Gaga did not approve of a song by Weird Al. It’s called “Perform This Way” and is a pretty pointed satire of the Queen of Pop’s “Born This Way.” Its proceeds would have benefited the Human Rights Campaign. Well, citing “Fair Use,” Weird Al decided to release it anyway to YouTube and Gaga’s people later relented. They gave official permission for the song to go forward. Take a listen, it’s pretty good.
So, the last day has given much fruit. Two really funny parodies of “Friday” by Rebecca Black and “I Just Sex” by Lonely Island have emerged. Leave it to the deeply religious for parodies.

While campaigning for fellow performer Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly ahead of Haiti’s run-off election, someone shot famed rapper Wyclef Jean in the hand. Jean went to a hospital for treatment, but was later released.
The shooting occurred in the Delmas section of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Last week, Jean staged a concert with Martelly in hopes of winning votes in the upcoming run-off. The police could not be reached for comment on the shooting.
