In his Wednesday interview about Election 2010, President Obama casually mentioned the idea of having a “Slurpee Summit” with Republicans at the White House. The meeting would promote bipartisanship following the most recent election cycle.
7-Eleven jumped at the opportunity to promote their brand. Shortly after the speech, the company contacted the White House about catering the unplanned event. They offered blue and red slurpees for the occasion, and even proposed purple ones as a tribute to red and blue coming together.
A new campaign will claim that Slurpees are “bringing people together.” The company announced a fleet of trucks will drive across the country promoting unity, finally stopping outside of Capitol Hill. 7-Eleven also offered to install Slurpee machines in the White House.
